A follow-up coffee table art book to Gray Malin's New York Time's Best-selling book, BEACHES, I designed ESCAPE, which is a 224 page hardcover art book celebrating Gray Malin's aerial photographs from around the world and is also a New York Times best seller. I designed, proofed and did final production for both books. It was published by international art books publisher, Abrams Books of New York and released worldwide on October 3, 2017.
Like BEACHES, ESCAPE comes in two versions. A special artist's edition is available exclusively on graymalin.com that features a silver foil stamped title on the cover and on the spine (it is also signed and numbered by Gray Malin. One of 1000.) Commercial version features UV spot gloss white fade titling. Both versions of ESCAPE feature silver fore edge page printing.
Available in store worldwide and online at abramsbooks.com, amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and indiebound.org. Read featured articles on InStyle, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and W Magazine.
*Featured on the New York Times Best Sellers list as of June 25, 2016. Best Travel book top 10. Currently (2018) still an Amazon Best-seller.
I have designed Gray Malin's first coffee table book, published by Abrams Books, New York. 144 pages full of Gray's most celebrated aerial images from around the world plus behind-the-scenes images; 13"x10", hard-cover. I proposed the concept for the entire flow of the book; from typography, layout, color and pagination. I designed, proofed and produced final files for production. A special artist's edition is available exclusively on graymalin.com that features a gold foil stamped title on the cover and on the spine (it is also signed and numbered by Gray Malin. One of 1000.)
Available in stores worldwide and online at abramsbooks.com, amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and indiebound.org.

These are samples of the direct-mail catalogs I created for each season at Lucky Brand. I designed, color-proofed, coordinated photo retouching and managed all pre-press duties. There are two full direct-mail catalogs per season and several supplemental catalogs such as Kids' catalogs and accessories catalogs. My designs for the catalogs set the design direction for all other advertisement and marketing collateral as well as in-store branding per season.
I conducted all multi-day press checks on-site with Arandell Corp. in Milwaukee, WI for each catalog.
I designed the quarterly magazine, The Wealth Collection. Through an exclusive partnership with Deloitte, The Wealth Collection is able to reach a wide range of private clients. Celebrities and the top tier of the global high net worth community complete an exclusive audience of affluent consumers. I did all photo retouching, layout and pre-press duties for this magazine.
Complete design of marketing/PR Look Books for Lucky Brand. Various formats and printing techniques were implemented for the different seasons. I worked closely with the marketing team and editorial team to create the most effective piece for each project. I designed, managed photo retouching process, color proofing, paper selection, and vendor relations for final print production.
The Social Contract is a one-year research project done as my Master's Degree thesis. I studied the original text written by philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau in 1762 and I wanted to see how his view on man's role in society has evolved to modern day. I am fascinated by personal identity and exploring an individual's role in society. I wrote and designed two books; one focusing more on the original text and its relation to modern day and the second book is more of a reaction and personal study of social, political and cultural events of current times. Books were written and self-produced using traditional bookbinding techniques. My final work was exhibited in Mall Galleries, London and selected to show in Corcoran College of Art + Design's first juried Alumni Show in Washington, D.C. The entire project was also then published in the international design book, Art in Book, which celebrated the best book designs in the world.
Both books hand-bound / hand-embossed slip-case / Book 1 is 64 pages / four color / french-fold pages with inside custom illustrated pattern printing on 60gsm rice paper / hand-scored fly-sheets using book's grid formation and pull-out information graphic at end / Book 2 is 64 pages / four color / combination of 130gsm matte photo paper french-fold with scored tear-away edges revealing inside printing and 60gsm rice paper in varying page widths / traditional book cloth, ribbon and bookbinding techniques applied to both books / Five A1 size posters and research books also on display at Mall Galleries show in London.
My work was selected to be part of the inaugural edition of Art In Book, which celebrates the 73 of best book designs around the world.
This is a 236-page book I designed for Factual. This book is inspired by city guides, but made entirely of personal travel tips, stories, and photos from Factual employees. Because Factual is a location data company, we also incorporated data from Factual's Global Places to tie in the relationship of our product to our team and our love of travel. This is Factual's first book and has become an integral piece of collateral for the marketing team.
The book includes a blind spot-UV on the cover as well as a tri-fold front cover. I designed all content, photo-retouched all photography, managed all production mechanicals and produced this book. Press check was also done on-site with Essence Printing in South San Francisco.
Complete design of a bi-annual Leading European Architects Forum magazine, theLEAF Review. I also re-designed the logo for this publication, award show collateral, and forum. I did all photo retouching, layouts and pre-press for this magazine.
